Community Medical Services (CMS) is an integrated opioid treatment program (OTP) founded in 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona, now operating over 70 clinics across multiple states, including the country's first 24-hour Opioid Treatment on Demand (OTOD) center. With a mission to help those suffering from substance use disorders by rebuilding communities one patient at a time, CMS provides evidence-based, compassionate care in a judgment-free environment, emphasizing low-barrier access with no waitlists and walk-ins always welcome. Specializing in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD), CMS offers options like methadone, buprenorphine (including Suboxone®, Sublocade®, and Brixadi), and naltrexone to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and cravings, alongside individualized counseling, group sessions, and certified peer support to develop healthy coping strategies and foster long-term recovery. Targeting individuals with OUD—including pregnant women, justice-involved persons, and underserved populations—CMS adopts a holistic, whole-person approach that integrates physical and behavioral health services, partners with emergency responders, correctional facilities, healthcare providers, and government agencies for seamless care coordination, and promotes community education to reduce stigma and enhance overdose prevention through free Narcan training and the innovative Recovery Connect app, ultimately saving lives, instilling hope, and restoring relationships.
